I DON'T want Obama to shift to "reasonable" in the SOTU. I want him to get even odder. We haven't begun to mine the fun to be had in his strangeness, inexperience, arrogance and condescension. Sure, there's a risk ... Go get 'em Barack!
In his interview with George Stephanopoulos yesterday, President Obama said this:
The same thing that swept Scott Brown into office swept me into office. People are angry, and they’re frustrated. Not just because of what’s happened in the last year or two years, but what’s happened over the last eight years.
DOES THE president actually believe this twaddle? Voter antipathy toward ObamaCare, giving constitutional rights to Islamic jihadists and a host of other horrible decisions swept Scott Brown into office. Can Obama recover from? Can he move to the center even slightly? I don't think so. He is an ideologue and it appears a one-trick pony. He has a demonstrated ability to run a campaign, but has shown very little governing competence. Obama likes being president--the perks, the adulation. All that decision making stuff, well, not so much.
Today’s Gallup poll has Obama’s approval rating on the economy – far and away the most important issue for the country – at an anemic 40 percent. His approval rating on health care – the issue he has devoted most of his presidency to – is at 37 percent. These numbers are the lowest of his presidency. In addition, Obama has the highest disapproval rating of any president in the January after the first year in office.
THE U.S. State Department on Tuesday said it had revoked the visa it had given a Nigerian man after his alleged attempt to blow up an airliner on Christmas Day with explosives hidden in his underwear.
