Traitors and the future

TRAITORS WITHIN our intelligence services, the CIA, the DIA and the other dozen or so organizations, have done incalculable damage to the United States, now and for the future. Soon-dead baby boomers watch with glee as criminal intelligence agents leak top secret documents to equally culpable journalists and their editors of the same “worst” generation. Now, imagine you are the inhabitant of the White House. You are by law tasked with protecting our nation. But Islamic fascists here and overseas, Maoists at U.S. colleges, at newspapers, and all voting Democrats are trying to destroy it. They cry when you question their patriotism, all the while telling the world (and believing) that the Unites States is itself the great evil. So how do you formulate a covert operation to disrupt, capture or kill terrorists when you know that traitor CIA agents will immediately reveal the plans to like-minded anti-American editors at the New York Times? Do you circumvent the CIA and go to the DOD? The spies are there, too. Who can you trust these days? The answer is pretty much no one outside a small circle within your administration. That we would have lost World War II under similar circumstances either eludes dumbass liberals or they don’t care. What they don’t understand is that this will assuredly come back to bite them on the ass long after Bush Derangement Syndrome has passed. Scum secularists reading this doubtless consider this state of affairs a great victory. (They became unhinged when the Soviet Union--utopia--fell apart and have yet to find a replacement that they can extoll without actually having to live in.) Now, imagine Hilary Clinton wins the presidency in 2008. Do you not understand that her ability to protect the nation will be equally damaged? Has she not absorbed the lesson that there is a sizable contingent of individuals in government who want us to lose the war against Islamic fascists? Example. A president, any president, asks for possible responses to a worst-case scenario--let’s say simultaneous nuclear explosions in major American cities. Hilary, in this case, knows that whatever the agencies come up will, within weeks, be splashed on the front page of the New York Times. Possible “Bill Keller” headlines: “Clinton plans nuke attacks on major Muslim cities”; “Nuclear response likely if U.S. hit”; “Poor and women hardest hit in U.S. terror response.” You get the picture. So what do you do if you are president? 1) Because of the likelihood of leaks, you simply don’t make strategic or even tactical plans. 2) You keep you own counsel, knowing if you ask for advice, your concerns will soon be known to the enemy real or potential. 3) You decide that when push comes to shove you will have no choice but to declare martial law and suspend habeas corpus. Any other course of action would be national suicide. 4) You shut down the New York Times, AP, the Washington Post and USA Today, knowing that the public can’t survive the media’s lip service to the “public’s right to know." In short, you become “George Bush” Not the real one, but the fascist the elitist left accuses him of being. Is there to avoid this coming catastrophe the Democrats have created? Probably not. Live with it. You more than deserve it.

4,000 dirt naps

THE LEADER of al-Qaida’s Iraq franchise announced today that 4,000 foreign terrorists have been killed by Iraqi and coalition troops. The Associated Press is mystified why he would make such an announcement. The best spin they can put on the theory is that it’s a recruiting tool. Sort of like “come to Iraq, die and collect your virgins.”
        His comment that al-Qaida was in “dire” need of help was also not good news for the the wire service that works hand-in-hand with Islamic fascists for the death of U.S. forces and defeat in Iraq.

Clinton, liberal monuments, 49ers

THE BIG stories on the blogs over the weekend were Bill Clinton’s freak-out when asked why he didn’t do more on terror and a liberal “monument” to 9/11 in Arizona.
        I started to watch the Clinton meltdown and turned it off. Hell, I could have done a better job of defending him than he did. That red-faced finger pointing has gotten old.
        The Arizona monument to 9/11 was a bit more irritating, if not surprising. A post-modern disaster, the designers spent more time trying to “understand” where WE went wrong--going ludicrously out of their way to highlight the Gulf of Tonkin--than they did remembering the victims of the event. An excellent teaching moment on why liberals are such morons.
        Another disaster was the play of the 49ers. After a competent game against the Rams last week they got smacked around by the Eagles pretty good. Still a lot of work to do. However, I can’t imagine coach Nolan will be invoking 40-year-old liberal talking points while trying to get the team ready for this week’s game. Small blessings.

United Nutters

IT WAS very difficult to pick a line or two to quote from the latest Mark Steyn column on the Iranian nutter's appearance at the U.N. This one will have to do:
     Iran's president was a huge hit at the U.N. Short of bringing out some burqa-clad Rockettes and doing a couple of choruses of "This Is the Dawning of the Age of a Scary Us," he couldn't have been a bigger smash.
    The question most of us are asking is what the hell are we still doing in that asylum of non-aligned (who are they non-aligned against? with? these days? That phrase once had meaning) freeloaders; and why are we paying 22 percent of the budget?

AP ignores own rules

HERE'S A truly evil Associated Press story written by terrorist sympathizer Omar Sinan that illustrates the unfathomable depths to which the adherents of the Islamic-fascist faith can sink, Geneva Convention or no. The lead:
    An al-Qaida-linked group posted a Web video Saturday purporting to show the bodies of two American soldiers being dragged behind a truck, then set on fire in apparent retaliation for the rape-slaying of a young Iraqi woman by U.S. troops from the same unit.
   1. The AP Style Guide has strict rules about the use of the word "alleged." However, in this lead, the U.S. troopers have not been "charged" in an alleged rape-slaying, THEY DID IT. Later down in the story the AP editors remember their own rules and slide "alleged" in. Leaving it out of the lead was not an accident.
   2. More AP deception in the lead. The victims were from "the same unit." Unit? Do you mean platoon or company or maybe battalion? No. In the very last sentence of the story do we learn how tenuous the connection really is: "The two slain soldiers were also from the 101st Airborne Division." Say what? No wonder they buried that zinger. The same division? Jeez. The same army? The same nation? If the connection was closer, say so.
    And so here we have it, all in one short report: The Associated Press paints a totally unwarranted picture of moral equivalence to protect terrorists while slandering two U.S. soldiers that gave their lives for their county. How can anyone possible doubt that the AP is not simply biased, but actually working for al-Qaida?

Nothing changes

THE SENATORS representing the state of al-Qaida--McCain and Graham have had yet another few weeks to bask in the warmth of the reflected pleasure of The New York Times, but that’s really about it.
        An “agreement” with the White House regarding various monkey wrenches they tossed into our ability to interrogate and prosecute people dedicated to destroying Western civilization has been reached.
        Not much was accomplished other than a lot of face-time for the terrorist-coddling senators allowing them to again assume the faux moral high ground.
        Their main argument, that if U.S. interrogators got rough with an Islamic terrorists, our enemies might mistreat our troops.
        That they could even make this argument without listeners breaking out in laughter shows how willfully ignorant the media is (sorry--singular not plural). Possibly if we got in a tussle with Australia or Britain, this tit-for-tat paradigm might come into play. But we are fighting non-uniform terrorists that have a thousand-year-old history of mutilating and torturing prisoners--not Col. Klink of Hogan’s Heroes.
        Ultimately, McCain accomplished this: He stroked himself and his ego. He provided cover for the Democrats (now gone). He aided our enemies. He destroyed any chance he might have had of acquiring the Republican presidential nomination.
        As for terrorist interrogations? Things will go on as before. Bush went to Congress and got some sort of authorization as instructed by the Supreme Court. McCain and fellow “dissidents” (NYT) can preen about whatever they think they have done for us, while ducking for cover when hard choices must be made.

VD Hanson hits another home run

    The last graph from his latest blog entry is all about truth and consequences in the Mideast.
    This was the one recent chance when the United States backed its lofty rhetoric with real sacrifice in the Middle East—but so far the moment is passing and will be replaced by something far worse if it fails. Just remember, should democratization falter, none of us will ever worry much about the cries for reform and democracy from a then truly whiny Arab dissident population, who flees to the West to damn the West for not doing what they themselves, in the manner of our own Founding Fathers, should have done long ago on their own. Nothing to the American character is more grating than perpetual scapegoating for self-induced pathologies, along with constant whining and victimization—and nowhere is that syndrome more common than in the radical Islamic Middle East.
    His understanding of Americans is spot on. We have seen enough scary pictures of raging lunatics with beards and bad teeth carrying signs threatening to kill infidels or apostates. There are a finite and dwindling number of last chances left.

The AP disgusts

IT'S QUITE a feather in the cap of the AP and the Pulitzer Prize judging committee that they were able to find a legitimate terrorist and award said terrorist a Pulitzer. The linked story is a smear job by an embarrassed, discredited organization, nothing more. Every third sentence is a either a "How could we possibly check?" or "We don't pick sides" (because the U.S. military and head-chopping fascists are presumably, in the AP's world view, morally equivalent).
I long ago thought I had seen it all, but to see what was once the most prestigious award for members of my profession go to a slaughterer, is beyond imagining. In a story filled with innuendo and bullshit, a few facts do manage to slip through the AP's appalling spin:

• The military said Hussein was captured with two insurgents, including Hamid Hamad Motib, an alleged leader of al-Qaida in Iraq. "He has close relationships with persons known to be responsible for kidnappings, smuggling, improvised explosive device (IED) attacks and other attacks on coalition forces," according to a May 7 e-mail from U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Jack Gardner, who oversees all coalition detainees in Iraq.
• The military said bomb-making materials were found in the apartment where Hussein was captured but it never detailed what those materials were. The military said he tested positive for traces of explosives.

Barbarians at the Gate

IT DIDN'T take long for the phony Pope Rage to produce it’s first death:
        An Italian nun was shot dead at a hospital by Somali gunmen Sunday, hours after a leading Muslim cleric condemned Pope Benedict XVI for his remarks on Islam and violence.
        It is beyond ironic that adherents of the ROP, chided by the Pope that violence and religion are incompatible, have responded by murdering a harmless woman.
        Back to football ...
